Students Debate Canada–Quebec Relations (1968)

In March 1968, René Lévesque, then a member of Québec's National Assembly, accepted an invitation from Keith Spicer, a University of Toronto professor, to speak with students at Scarborough College. ...This event was part of Spicer's lecture series French Canada Today, which brought Québec intellectuals and politicians to engage with students on current issues.

The students posed thoughtful and pointed questions, and Lévesque answered with clarity and conviction, making a compelling case for the viability and necessity of Québec's sovereignty. More than fifty years later, this exchange still echoes in discussions about the province's future.
